The Last Hurrah!

I'm wondering how many of you are spending your last few pre-PCP days/hours totally indulging, like I am. Last night, my husband and I had a great dinner out to celebrate our anniversary - and, in my head at least, to mark my "last meal" before embarking on the PCP.

First, drinks at the Standard Hotel in NYC:

Followed by dinner at Spice Market - a Jean Georges restaurant with a menu inspired by Asian street food. Holy deliciousness, Batman! We opted for the chef's tasting menu which included raw tuna, a sushi-like lobster roll and deep-fried samosas for apps; amazing cod, a spicy chicken dish, and ginger fried rice for entrees; a fruit/yogurt pudding thing and a dense chocolate Ovaltine concoction for dessert. I'd try to describe some of these dishes in more detail, but we also shared a pitcher of ginger margaritas...so I'm a little fuzzy on the details. Oh, I almost forgot my favorite of the appetizers: 4 little beef hamburger things, cooked rare and served on skewers, with the best spicy dipping sauce I've ever had. So, so good.

Here's the cod entree:

You can also see the ginger margaritas in that picture - honestly, one of the highlights of the meal. Tequila, I will miss you! XOXO

I'm sure I will be drooling over this post in the months to come - and will probably kick myself for posting those photos - but I am really glad we had a reason to celebrate in such style before I start subtracting foods and booze from my life. It was just lovely to enjoy it all, with no guilt, with my husband, on our anniversary:

Tomorrow, the ass-kicking begins! Good luck, y'all!
