I'm loving the workouts first thing in the morning. I definitely feel more energized and productive afterward. Jumping feels more fluid, less of a shock to the system. Overall, the workouts feel very do-able so far. I'm sore, but not painfully so. Each morning, I find myself resisting the urge to do more sets, to push myself (as is my usual habit), as I'm sure the challenges are right around the corner. :)
However, for the last 2 days, I've experienced a serious crash in energy in the late afternoon. Around 4 pm or so, I NEED to lie down. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. And I haven't been able to rally up some more energy until the kids' bedtime. What is happening here? I wonder if this is a normal response to increased exercise and change in diet? Or if this, plus the bruises all over my legs, means I'm anemic? Is anyone else experiencing a crash like this?
I felt like this too -- the half-portions can definitely make you sluggish if you weren't eating a ton of food before. Are you a coffee drinker? Might be time for an afternoon cup, just until this passes...? I think your energy will rebound soon enough, but I understand when you need to handle kids, there's no way around it!
ReplyDeleteThis crash is a good sign!
ReplyDeleteI love the morning burst of energy. I have to stop myself from jumping more than we're supposed to. I would enthusiastically do double what we're doing or more. I always feel sluggish around 3:30-4 but it's been super bad lately. I've had to resort to afternoon coffee; good things the workouts or the lack of food or something is making me sleep like a baby.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...it's good to know that I'm not the only one crashing out. I do drink coffee - but only in the morning. I seem to be more and more sensitive to caffeine in my old age and if I drink it much past noon, I find I can't sleep at night. But, things seem topsy turvy these days, so I might have to give that a try. Thanks, all.
ReplyDeleteHi, I have that too, wish i can lay down, but hard to do in the office... :-) I am sure our systems are on the way for a tune up
